Starting Point:

Our guide will be waiting for you in front of your hotel.

Dresden is more than just a city; it is an open-air museum, where every corner is steeped in history, and architectural masterpieces captivate with their elegance and grandeur. Known as the “Florence on the Elbe,” Dresden is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, unique atmosphere, and breathtaking landmarks.

We invite you on an exciting journey from Prague to Dresden, where you will discover magnificent palaces, world-famous museums, picturesque riverbanks, and charming squares filled with echoes of the past. This tour is the perfect choice for those who wish to immerse themselves in history, admire architectural and artistic masterpieces, and spend a day in one of Germany’s most enchanting cities.Early in the morning, we depart from Prague and set off on a fascinating journey through western Bohemia and German Saxony. The drive to Dresden takes just over two hours, but the time will fly by as we pass through emerald-green hills, vineyards, and charming villages, where traditional half-timbered houses add to the fairy-tale landscape.

During the journey, our guide will share interesting stories about Saxony, one of Germany’s most picturesque and historically significant regions. You will learn about its deep-rooted connections with Czech history, why it is called “the land of kings and artists,” and what secrets are hidden along the banks of the Elbe River, upon which Dresden proudly stands.Upon arrival in Dresden, we will begin a walking tour through its historic city center, home to some of Germany’s most remarkable architectural landmarks.

Our first stop is the Dresden Zwinger – the city’s most iconic landmark and one of the grandest Baroque palace complexes in Europe. Its elegant colonnades, intricate statues, majestic fountains, and beautifully landscaped courtyards make it the perfect spot for photography and enjoying the atmosphere of old-world Europe.

Next, we will visit the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), a stunning symbol of Dresden that was destroyed during World War II and meticulously reconstructed from its original stones. Today, this magnificent church impresses visitors with its majestic dome and luminous, harmonious interior.

We will also see the Semper Opera House, renowned for its splendor and acoustics. This world-famous venue has hosted performances by Wagner, Beethoven, and Strauss and remains one of Europe’s most breathtaking opera houses.

Strolling along Brühl’s Terrace, we will take in panoramic views of the Elbe River and Dresden’s historic skyline. This is one of the most scenic spots in the city, especially in the warmer months when nature flourishes and the city is bathed in sunlight. After the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to explore Dresden at your own pace. The city offers a wealth of attractions and experiences.

For art lovers, we highly recommend visiting the Old Masters Gallery, home to masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Velázquez, as well as the legendary “Sistine Madonna” by Raphael.

History enthusiasts should visit the Porcelain Museum, which showcases an extensive collection of Dresden porcelain, crafted in nearby Meissen – the first European center of porcelain production.

Those who prefer a more leisurely experience can enjoy a scenic walk along the Elbe River, explore Dresden’s charming courtyards, sip coffee in one of the city’s cozy cafés, or relax on the square in front of the Frauenkirche, watching the city’s life unfold.

For shopping enthusiasts, Dresden offers excellent opportunities, including a visit to Altmarkt Gallery, where you can purchase souvenirs, designer goods, Meissen porcelain, and local delicacies.During your free time, we invite you to savor traditional German cuisine at one of Dresden’s charming restaurants. Here, you can indulge in Dresden’s famous sausages, roasted pork knuckle with braised cabbage, tender Bavarian duck, or fresh trout from local rivers.

And, of course, don’t forget to try the famous Dresden Stollen – a traditional German dessert that is especially popular during the winter holidays but can also be found in local pastry shops throughout the year. After a fulfilling and enriching day, you will have a bit more time to take final photographs, soak in the city’s atmosphere, and enjoy a last walk through Dresden’s historic streets.

At the designated time, we will begin our return journey to Prague, bringing back with us unforgettable impressions, vibrant emotions, and the feeling of having traveled through time.

Important! Recommendations for a comfortable journey :

To make a walk in Prague a pleasure, choose comfortable shoes and clothes according to the weather. The city’s cobblestones and hilly streets require comfortable footwear, and the changeable weather means being prepared for surprises. It’s worth taking warm clothes in the cooler seasons, and a hat and sunglasses in summer. Don’t forget an umbrella – it can start raining unexpectedly in Prague.

The tour includes a long walk, but it will be comfortable even for unprepared travellers. It is only important to take care of a small rucksack for personal belongings and a bottle of water in advance.

Lunch is not included, but the guide will be happy to recommend tried and tested restaurants with traditional Czech cuisine where you can enjoy the best local specialities.

With these simple tips, the walk will be even more enjoyable and your Prague experience will be unforgettable!
